A representative of Sobre Mesa, a Mexican restaurant in Sudbury’s historic town center, informed the community on December 9 that the restaurant would convert to a concept called Sul Tavolo in January 2025. The change will be permanent according to the Facebook post and ensuing comments from the representative.
Sul Tavolo was initially a pop-up restaurant that served Italian fare on the second floor of Sobre Mesa. That pop-up operated for a a nearly two months in late 2023. The menu featured craft cocktails, clever re-use of ingredients featured on the pre-existing Sobre Mesa menu, and “tuscan monkey bread” that was, as the kids say, “bussin.”
The restaurant is owned by Jordan and Reanna Mackey. Sul Tavolo will be part of their growing portfolio across the Massachusetts suburbs. The duo opened Nan’s Kitchen, a wildly-successful quick-service concept, which has expanded from its first location in Stow to a second in Southborough. A third location is expected to open in Westford by the end of this year according to the Westford CAT.
In another comment, the representative noted that the restaurant was listed as for sale, but ownership decided to hang on to it.
“The business was listed for sale as the team explored a few options of what to do with the space but decided not to sell—same team and ownership. Official announcement from Chef Jordan coming soon!”
