I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Julie Durgin-Sicree for the Sudbury Public Schools Committee. Having worked closely with Julie at Biogen, I have seen firsthand the leadership, integrity, and data-driven mindset she brings to every challenge.
In our professional time together, Julie stood out as a thoughtful leader who doesn’t make decisions based on instinct, but on careful analysis and facts. Her role required her to coach leaders and design frameworks for employee development. She is skilled at listening and understanding different perspectives through discussion, surveys, and observation. Julie has experience and skills that are critical in supporting our educators and ensuring our students have the tools they need to succeed.
Julie has extensive experience partnering with operational leaders to set clear goals and measure performance. She knows how to take complex changes and communicate them effectively so that large groups understand “why” and “how it will impact them.” This ability to bridge the gap between high-level planning and effective implementation is exactly what our school district needs to navigate the challenges of educational achievement, community engagement, long-range planning, and fiscal stewardship.
However, what impresses me most about Julie, is her commitment to respectful, principled leadership. Julie is someone who stays grounded in the facts and keeps students at the center of the conversation, regardless of the political noise.
Sudbury is fortunate to have someone of Julie’s caliber already serving on the Committee. I hope you will join me in voting to keep her there.
