In just 15 days we will celebrate 250 Years of Independence at the annual 4th of July parade. The parade, produced by the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, promises to be an all-time favorite. As of today, there are 54 groups participating. For the first time the renowned 215th Army Marching Band will join the Sudbury celebration. We will also enjoy a large & colorful group of percussion dancers from the Veronica Robles Cultural Center representing Latin American countries with flags and traditional garb. Another new participant is Metrowest Kung Fu of Maynard, a martial arts school.

A special attraction for kids of all ages is the 2nd Annual Bike Decorating event and ride from Duck Soup to Town Center. www.quackquackquack.com
We are excited to announce that New Horizons is our Lead Parade Sponsor. Located just over the border in Marlborough, New Horizons is a large retirement community where many former Sudbury residents live. It is a Cummings Company and thanks to Executive Director Betsy Connolly and colleagues Tony Sosa and Kristin Braga we have been awarded a generous Cummings Foundation grant for their sponsorship. Residents, family members and staff will lead the parade with a banner and pass out small flags to children along the route. Be sure to cheer them on!
Organizing an event of this size is not for the faint of heart! We are grateful to the core parade team: Commander Mike Hamill, Libby Hamill, Doug Haartz and, new this year, Bill Sell, who will take the lead for next year’s parade.
We also could not produce this parade without the support of the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce members who purchase the banners you see along Route 20. There are currently 23 banners hanging – -and it’s not too late to claim a pole for your company. Collectively these businesses contribute $27,000 to the parade each year. Please take note and thank them for their generosity.
We also appreciate the Town of Sudbury for its financial support and the Sudbury 250 Committee and Sudbury Historical Society for their amazing work over the past two years bringing our town’s Revolutionary history and contributions to life.
