The third consecutive year of Accessible Halloween, 2025, was a tremendous success. Estimates of over 200 children, families, friends, and caregivers Trick Or Treated up and down Meadowbrook Circle and Road from 5 to 7 PM on Halloween.
As they made their way along the driveways and tables that were set up to make sure everyone could participate, the participants received non-allergenic treats and small toys, like finger flashlights. Many stopped to record the joy of the event and snapped a photo at the Halloween booth.

It was cool and breezy, perfect weather for the ghosts, fairies, princesses, pirates, and monsters that made their way around. It was a memorable street-long festival that drew more people from Sudbury and surrounding towns.
A mom who came from West Acton with her family said:
“It was fantastic to not feel judged, or to feel the need to explain anything at all. I felt like my whole family was welcome, no questions asked. Such a warm feeling — wish there were more places like this!”
Local businesses donated funds to the Commission on Disability to purchase decor and non-edible treats. Their generous contributions facilitated hosting the event.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the neighbors who attended tables and the core group of volunteers that made it happen. We are particularly grateful to the community organizers who brought the community together, bringing a positive spirit, to make this a warm, inclusive, exciting, and safe occasion for all: Lisa Kouchakdjian, Liesje Carrigan Quinto, Karyn Vostok Jones, Dena Salom, Amanda Letts, Kay Bell, Nell Forgacs, and Katie Dineen. It started with their spark, and we have seen the bright results.
