All residents of Sudbury are invited to the kickoff meeting of the Housing Roundtable at the Goodnow Library on June 9, 2026 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
Last spring, Sudbury adopted a Housing Production Plan (HPP) “to create and preserve affordable and mixed income housing as well as stabilize housing for existing residents and create more housing options in the community.”
One of the strategies for achieving the goals in the HPP is the creation of a Housing Roundtable to establish the roles and responsibilities of the public to implement the HPP. The idea is to bring together interested community members, as well as all relevant groups and entities which deal with housing issues, on a quarterly or other regular basis to discuss local housing challenges and develop solutions. Those groups or entities invited to the Roundtable include members of the Select Board, Planning Board, Sudbury Housing Trust, Sudbury Housing Authority, CPC, Zoning Board of Appeals, Social Worker Office, Council on Aging, Chamber of Commerce, Town staff and, most importantly, the public.
You may recall there was a Housing Forum at Goodnow Library last October. That Forum was intended to be informational and educational. The start of the Roundtable process is intended to be a call to action. It is important that not only the Roundtable participants be present when the process envisioned by the HPP starts, but also that the public be present, so their voice is heard at the start of the process and not when the process is well underway.
