As I grew to know Karyn, what stayed with me about her are: her authenticity, relatability, boundless energy, compassion, and inclusive vision. Now, after knowing her, I realize those attributes are intrinsic to her and inform her decisions and actions.
If elected as a Sudbury School Committee member, she will bring those set of core values to work hard on behalf of all children in Sudbury. She knows the sacred charge of a school committee member – to provide every opportunity to learn for all students and to care for their well-being.
She previously worked as a quantitative analyst and later in developing and raising funds for a non-profit for special educational needs. After moving to Sudbury, she worked on initiatives such as Accessible Trick-or Treat, the TOPSoccer program, and successfully raised grants for accessible library materials. In addition to that, she serves on Sudbury’s Commission on Disability. She has been working on behalf of others before and after moving to Sudbury.
As a former Lincoln Sudbury School Committee member, I know that Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School, the jewel of our towns, succeeds when all children from Sudbury and Lincoln come to the high school fully prepared and properly nurtured.
With Karyn on the Sudbury School Committee, I know that she will work hard and sincerely to serve the needs of every student. Her experience as an analyst will be a valuable guide for her work on school budgets. Her care and compassion will ensure that all students’ needs are addressed.
