Donna Jane May, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023 in Framingham. She was 84 years old. She was the beloved wife of Robert May.
Donna was born on November 08, 1939, to Herman and Helen Zibble. She has a brother, Ron, who she adored and remained close to throughout her life. She also had two sisters and an older brother. She is survived additionally by four nieces and three nephews.
Donna met her husband, Bob, when they both worked for Quaker Oats in, of all places, the pet food business. They married in 1969 and had two sons, Greg and Bryan, who were and are the center of their world. Donna was a devoted mother who did not always understand her sons but supported them in their endeavors and encouraged them to follow their dreams.
Donna was the proud grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, Indhy and Tristan. She cherished every moment she spent with them and showered them with affection and gifts. She was always there for their birthdays, holidays, and school events.
Donna enjoyed the open countryside and fishing at the family cottage in Illinois. She also liked to travel and explore Hawaii, Australia, Japan, and England with her family.
Donna was a generous and compassionate person who always helped others in need. She volunteered at St. John Lutheran Church for years and had a particular love for the youth Sunday School program and the senior events.
Donna courageously fought her disease for over seven years. She never gave up hope and faced every challenge with spirit and resiliency. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was admired for her strength.
Donna left us too soon, but she will never be forgotten. She will always be our angel, watching over us and guiding us. She will always be our Donna, who we love and cherish.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, January 4th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt. 111) Acton. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 7th 1 pm. The location is St. John Lutheran Church 16 Great Road, Sudbury, Mass.
