As a resident of Sudbury, I am proud to support Lisa Kouchakdjian for re-election to the Select Board. Over the past few years, Lisa has shown time and again that she is a dedicated and effective leader, deeply committed to making Sudbury a better place for all its residents. She has consistently prioritized key issues such as responsible capital planning, staff retention, inclusivity, and enhancing our community’s quality of life.
Strong Capital Planning for a Sustainable Future
One of Lisa’s top priorities is ensuring that Sudbury’s future is built on a strong, sustainable foundation. The Select Board has tasked the Town Manager with developing and implementing a comprehensive capital plan, guided by the recently completed Facility Condition Assessment and Space Use Analysis. This is an essential step toward addressing Sudbury’s long-term needs and prioritizing critical infrastructure projects. With Lisa’s leadership, Sudbury will continue to make strategic investments that are fiscally responsible and forward-thinking, ensuring that our community’s needs are met effectively and efficiently.
Addressing Staffing Shortages and Strengthening Town Operations
Sudbury has faced long-standing staffing shortages that have impacted town services, and Lisa has been at the forefront of addressing this issue. As a member of the Select Board, she has worked diligently to support the Town Manager in efforts to attract and retain top talent, improve efficiency in town operations, and maximize revenue opportunities. A well-supported workforce is essential to delivering the high-quality services that residents deserve, and Lisa’s commitment to ensuring Sudbury’s staff has the resources they need is unwavering.
Fostering a More Inclusive and United Sudbury
Lisa believes that Sudbury must be a place where every resident feels welcomed, valued, and respected. Throughout her years of public service, she has been a consistent advocate for inclusion, working to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability, feel supported in our community. From her time on the Special Education Parent Advisory Council to her years on the Sudbury School Committee and now on the Select Board, Lisa has championed policies that promote equity and foster a sense of belonging for all. At a time when divisions are growing across the country, Lisa’s leadership is more crucial than ever in promoting unity and ensuring that everyone in Sudbury has equal access to town resources and opportunities.
Advocating for Recreation and Open Space
Lisa understands that recreation is a key component of Sudbury’s vibrant community, and ensuring access to quality programs and facilities must remain a priority. The Park and Recreation Department, while essential to the town’s well-being, faces challenges related to limited funding and staffing shortages. Lisa is committed to reevaluating town funding and ensuring that the department has the resources it needs to maintain and enhance recreational opportunities. Additionally, she will continue to support the Open Space and Recreation Plan, which will provide even more opportunities for residents to enjoy the natural beauty of Sudbury.
Progress, Sustainability, and Community Resilience
Over the course of her first term, Lisa has supported projects that benefit the entire community, such as the Fairbank Community Center, electric vehicle charging stations, solar roofs, and the completion of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and Mass Central Rail Trail. These projects are evidence of Lisa’s commitment to investing in Sudbury’s future, ensuring that we are on the path toward sustainability and improved quality of life for everyone. As we look to the future, Lisa remains dedicated to maintaining a focus on smart, sustainable investments that will benefit Sudbury for generations to come.
Leadership That Puts Sudbury First
Lisa has always put Sudbury first, focusing on the issues that matter most to our community. Her leadership is grounded in a commitment to listening to residents, respecting diverse perspectives, and making decisions that will benefit everyone. In a time when divisive national politics often permeate local conversations, Lisa stands as a leader who can bring people together, listen to all sides, and make decisions based on what’s best for Sudbury.
If re-elected, Lisa will continue to advocate for policies that ensure Sudbury remains a thriving, inclusive, and resilient community. Her dedication to thoughtful planning, inclusive policies, and enhancing our community’s quality of life makes her the right leader for Sudbury’s future.
On March 31st, vote for Lisa Kouchakdjian and help continue moving Sudbury forward in a positive, inclusive direction.
