The Sudbury Garden Club invites you to join us at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 6 th at the Memorial Congregational Church when Barbara Mcintosh will talk about the goals and accomplishments of the Massachusetts Master Gardener Association (MMGA) Prison Outreach Program. This program provides an opportunity for Master Gardeners to make a difference in the lives of prisoners at the Massachusetts Department of Correction (DOC) and Massachusetts Correctional Institutions (MCI). Using horticultural best practices, volunteer Master Gardeners work with inmates to establish and maintain vegetable and landscape gardens. The program publishes a brochure on 25 green-industry businesses that are willing to hire former inmates. The goal is to provide incarcerated individuals with the training and development to help prepare them for work in the green industry upon release.
