Rooms of treasures, holiday treats, and a visit from one of Santa’s elves at Sudbury’s decades-old holiday tradition
SUDBURY, Mass.- Memorial Congregational Church (MCC) will host its decades-old Silver Bells Holiday Fair on Friday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 26 Concord Road in Sudbury.
Part holiday market, part treasure hunt, the fair fills the church with rooms of goods to browse, and you never know what you’ll discover. It’s a chance to cross gifts off your list and maybe take home something you didn’t know you were looking for. Proceeds support Fresh Start Furniture Bank in Hudson, HOPEsudbury, and the church’s broader outreach work.
Themed “shoppes” include Christmas, Needlework & Crafts, Jewelry, Toys/Games/Puzzles/Sporting Goods, a Book Shoppe overflowing with books and records, and White Elephants, a room packed with new and gently used kitchenware, household goods, décor, and small electronics at bargain prices.
Friday evening is an exclusive shopping night with first dibs on the treasures for sale. Entry is $5, with a portion donated to Open Table and More Than Words.
Saturday admission is free, and the day adds even more to enjoy:
- The Bake Shoppe, stocked with homemade holiday treats
- Lunch at the Café/Grill, so you can take a break and then head back for one more look around
- Storytime with one of Santa’s elves
- A children’s service project
- Holiday piano music in the sanctuary
“The Silver Bells Holiday Fair is one of the ways our church says thank you to this town,” said Rev. Tom O’Brien, Senior Pastor. “People come back year after year for the baked goods and the bargains, but what they really come back for is each other. It’s a day where neighbors catch up, kids meet an elf, and every purchase helps someone in our community.”
Longtime residents may remember the fair by its earlier name, the Twelve Shoppes of Christmas.
