SUDBURY, MA — State Representative Carmine Gentile and Senator Jamie Eldridge will host a public forum titled “The Road Ahead: The Impact of Federal Cuts and the State’s Response” on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sudbury Meetinghouse / First Parish of Sudbury, located at 327 Concord Road. The event will feature a presentation and remarks by Quentin Palfrey, Director of the Commonwealth’s Federal Funds and Infrastructure Office, followed by a moderated audience question-and-answer session. Director Palfrey will provide an overview of recent, dramatic changes in federal funding, how Massachusetts is responding, and the potential impacts on local governments, nonprofit organizations, and communities across the state.
“This forum is about ensuring residents have clear, factual information about what’s happening at the federal level and how the Commonwealth is preparing for what comes next,” said Rep. Gentile. “We want people to understand the stakes and to have the opportunity to engage directly with state leaders.” The event is open to the public and is intended to provide nonpartisan, informational insight into evolving federal-state funding dynamics. The program will be broadcast and recorded by SudburyTV for those unable to attend in person.
The forum is sponsored by Representative Carmine Gentile, Senator Jamie Eldridge, the League of Women Voters of Sudbury, the League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle, First Parish of Sudbury, Sudbury Meetinghouse, Athina Education, and Sustainable Sudbury. Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.
