Weston Drama Workshop, a nonprofit youth theater organization in its 64th anniversary season, is in the midst of staging seven productions this month at Regis College, featuring participants entering Grade 5 through age 23. These young performers have been rehearsing since early June, and will perform at the Regis College Fine Arts Center through July 25—totaling over 30 performances in the span of a jam-packed two weeks.
WDW’s younger ensemble—participants entering 5th grade through 9th—will perform two productions: High School Musical, the stage adaptation of the hit 2006 film, directed by Skylar Grossman; and James and the Giant Peach, a heartfelt musical adaptation based on the classic Roald Dahl book, directed by Callie Llewellyn. Among the young actors performing in these two productions are Sudbury residents Taylor Archambault, Wes Blake, Joanna Fidler, Emma Kubera, Andrew Liberman, and Paige Zimmermann.
The program’s older ensemble, made up of actors ages 14–23, will perform three musicals and two plays. Audiences will experience one of Shakespeare’s most joyful comedies at Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Tristan Burke; experience a small town’s journey to inclusion and acceptance at The Prom, directed by Julia Deter; dive into the heartbreaking true story of Leo Frank at Parade, directed by Chris Brindley; explore the power of teenage loneliness and community at Dear Evan Hansen, directed by Chris Brindley; and witness a family reckoning with their past at The Hills of California, directed by Stephanie Manning. Among the performers starring in these four productions are Sudbury residents Sidney Bennett, Lucy Immonen, Stella McEvoy, Kenly Murray, Peyton Murray, Bea Pestka, Ellie Pestka, and Marcy Zarembok.

Tickets are available at westondramaworkshop.org, and questions can be directed to the box office at 781-768-7070. All performances are held at Regis College’s air-conditioned Fine Arts Center.
