Sudbury weather continues with lots of rainy days but generally very minimal rainfall amounts. We recorded measurable rain on 12 days, which is consistent with prior months, but the monthly total was only 2.38 inches of rain. And one of the coldest mornings of the month was Sunday the 31st with a morning low of 36 degrees.
We did have some heat with a high for the month at 97 degrees. As we move into our summer months we are in need of some soaking rain storms to keep our landscapes healthy.
Here is some data for recent years through May:
Year to Date Rainfall 2026: 12.65 in.
Year to Date Rainfall 2025: 20.99 in.
Year to Date Rainfall 2024: 25.45 in.
Year to Date Rainfall 2023: 19.30 in.
Although 2025 rainfall was generous through May the remainder of 2025 was much drier with that pattern continuing into 2026. So we surely do not want a rainy summer but again are in need of some significant rain storms. Be careful what we wish for I suppose.
