Club Pilates recently opened a location in Sudbury’s Meadow Walk plaza. Talia Lemerise, GM of the Sudbury location, was kind enough to answer some questions about the popular new business.
The Meadow Walk plaza has become a vibrant “town center” hub for Sudbury. How do you see Club Pilates fitting into the ecosystem of neighbors like Whole Foods, The Farmer’s Daughter, and the Avalon residential community?
Club Pilates is a great addition to The Meadow Walk plaza because it can easily blend into any daily routine, no matter your schedule or lifestyle.
Are you a morning workout person? Start your day with a 7am class at Club Pilates, then head over to The Farmer’s Daughter to grab breakfast with friends.
Do you like to work out after a long day? Pack your workout clothes the night before and join us for a 5:30pm class! Then you can swing by Whole Foods to pick up everything you need for dinner.
Live at the Avalon apartments? You can get your steps in with a quick walk to the studio for class!

While the “Club Pilates” name is well-known, every studio has its own local flair. What will be unique about the Sudbury location—whether in design, local ownership, or the specific team you’ve assembled?
What makes Club Pilates Sudbury unique is our ownership and our incredible team. We’re part of Spartan Fitness Holdings, which operates more Club Pilates studios than any other group in the world. Spartan’s mission is to make a meaningful impact on the lives we touch and spend our time on the things that matter. That commitment really comes through in our instructors and studio experience.
Each of our instructors completes 500 hours of comprehensive training to ensure that every person who walks through our doors has a welcoming, safe, and high quality experience. Every class begins with a simple check “How’s everyone’s body feeling today?”. This creates space to share any injuries, limitations, or even just how you’re feeling that day. Whether it’s a past knee replacement, a spinal injury, or just a headache, our instructors take it all into account.
From there they’re able to easily modify exercises to make sure your workout feels both comfortable and effective for you.
Another great benefit of being part of Spartan is that our Unlimited members get access to all 160+ studios within our ownership group at no additional cost. In Massachusetts alone, that includes locations like Assembly Row, Back Bay, Brookline, Burlington, Lynnfield, Newburyport, Village Shoppes, Wellesley, and Woburn. With even more studios set to open in MA later this year!
Many people equate Pilates only with the Reformer machine. Can you talk about the variety of equipment members will find in the Sudbury studio and how they contribute to a full-body workout?
Yes! Club Pilates Sudbury will offer a wide variety of equipment in the studio. Each of our 12 stations includes a Reformer, Mat, Springboard, TRX, Chair, Jumpboard, and props like BOSU balls, gliders, hand weights, and more.
All of this equipment allows us to keep classes new and adaptable. It can be used to make exercises more challenging, provide modifications for injuries or limitations, and add variety so workouts stay fresh. That’s why no two classes ever feel exactly the same.

Every class uses the reformer, which on its own can give a full body workout. We may also use the mat to introduce certain movements, especially for beginners, that can later be progressed onto the reformer.
Another example, we also incorporate equipment like the Springboard in some classes. The Springboard uses adjustable spring resistance with straps attached at different heights, allowing for both upper and lower body exercises. One of the great things about it is how customizable it is. You can step further away to increase resistance or move closer to reduce it, making it easy to tailor the intensity to your comfort level.
Sudbury is home to a diverse demographic—from high school athletes to active retirees. How do your classes accommodate different fitness levels and specific goals, such as cross-training for sports or improving mobility for seniors?
This is honestly one of my favorite parts about Club Pilates! Our schedule includes 6 different class types across 3 levels, so there’s truly something for everyone.
If you’re brand new to pilates, our Level 1 classes are the perfect place to start. Instructors take the time to walk you through positions, proper form, and how each movement should feel in your body. After about 10 classes (or if you already have some experience) Level 1.5 is a great next step if you’re looking for a slightly faster pace and a more challenging workout.
What I love most is the variety of class types we offer. You’ll see a lot of Reformer Flow classes on the schedule, which focuses on strengthening, lengthening, balance, and coordination. If you’re looking to break a sweat and get your heart rate up, Cardio Sculpt is a great option. For days when you want to slow things down, Center + Balance combines light movement with deep stretching. And if your goal is to really target your legs and glutes, Control is the perfect class. Control incorporates pilates principles with more standing work to really target leg and glute muscles.
Not only is there a class for everybody, there’s an instructor for everybody too. With over 12 instructors, each bringing their own unique style, you’ll quickly find the ones you connect with and love taking classes from.
Opening in the spring often aligns with people looking to refresh their wellness routines. What should first-time visitors expect when they walk through the doors during your grand opening period?
When you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk team, who are there to make your experience easy and welcoming from the start!
If it’s your first time, just let us know when you arrive. We’ll get your checked in, have you complete a quick waiver, and make sure you have grippy socks for class. From there, we’ll give you a quick tour of the studio so you know exactly where everything is, including where to put your belongings and fill up your water bottle.
Before class starts, your instructor will introduce themselves and ask if you have any injuries or limitations they should be aware of. They’ll also walk you through a quick overview of the studio and equipment, so you feel comfortable and confident going into your first class.
Overall, you can expect a smooth, supportive, and welcoming experience from start to finish!

Beyond the four walls of the studio, how do you plan to engage with the Sudbury community? Are there local partnerships or events on the horizon that residents can look forward to?
I’m really excited about building strong connections within the Sudbury community! I’m always looking to partner with local businesses, and we’re currently planning collaborations with nearby medspas to create wellness focused events that combine pilates with recovery and self care.
As the weather gets warmer, we’re also hoping to host outdoor events throughout the community. These will be a great opportunity for residents to experience pilates in a fun way and see how it can positively impact their everyday lives!
