To the readers of “One Bad Rhyme Deserves Another,”
In a political climate such as today’s — both nationally and, unfortunately, locally – where disagreement has become absolute and vitriolic, I’m afraid what was intended as a gentle teasing of Kevin’s coverage of the recent Liberty Ledge/Sewataro meeting might be taken as serious criticism.
It was not. Despite, perhaps, some clumsiness of wording (rhyming ain’t easy, folks) in my response, I hold Kevin in very high regard. In the absence of a local newspaper, he fills a critical need for information about the running of our town. His reporting is factual, balanced and principled.
My strained doggerel was an attempt to bring a little levity to what I see as a very serious issue: the need to share some of Sudbury’s considerable resources with a few of the huge number of households, including many of our adult children, who can’t afford to live here.
