After more than four months of anticipation, the beloved Lotus Blossom restaurant in Sudbury will officially reopen its doors on Wednesday, July 30, following a temporary closure due to a kitchen fire earlier this year.
The fire, which occurred in early March, caused damage to the restaurant’s kitchen, forcing the popular Chinese and Asian fusion eatery to suspend operations for an extended period while repairs and safety upgrades were completed.
The good news about the reopening was announced on Facebook.
The fire was contained to the kitchen area and occurred after hours, so no injuries were reported. However, extensive cleaning, equipment replacement, and inspections were required before reopening.
Known for its elegant setting, attentive service, and wide-ranging menu, from General Gau’s Chicken and to sushi rolls and vegetarian specialties, Lotus Blossom has been a staple in Sudbury and the surrounding MetroWest area for decades.
The restaurant’s return has been eagerly awaited by regulars and newcomers alike, many of whom took to social media over the last few months to share memories, express support, and ask when the beloved restaurant would reopen.
Lotus Blossom is located at 394 Boston Post Road in Sudbury.
