The Town of Sudbury hosted a well-attended Holiday Village event on Saturday, December 6. The event, held at the new Fairbank Community Center, featured food trucks, shopping in the main gymnasium, arts and crafts, demonstrations, touch-a-truck and baby animals.

While the baby animals drew a steady crowd of families, there was much to do for all ages and interests both inside and outside the community center.
The always-popular touch-a-truck included heavy equipment from the Department of Public Works and public safety vehicles.
In the gym, the gift market was filled with a diverse mix of artists, makers and household goods. It even included a gift wrapping station.
The event was something of a grand opening for the Fairbank Community Center. This was the first major, community-wide event hosted in the new space, and it did not disappoint. Virtually every public room in the building had programming of some sort, including the incredibly welcoming and cozy fireplace room in the Senior Center.
The event was also an opportunity to show off recently-completed renovations at the Atkinson Pool — which was busy as could be with swimmers.
The magnitude of the operation stood out, with staffers and first responders from the Town of Sudbury facilitating each facet of the event across a broad variety of spaces, both inside and outside the building.
The event kicked off with a seasonally-appropriate light flurry of snow, adding a pitch-perfect backdrop to the day.
