Jonathan Sullivan notified the Town Clerk Monday of his intention to run as a write-in candidate for the Sudbury School Committee in the March 30 Annual Town Election.
This will be his first run for a seat on the committee.
Two candidates, Julie Durgin and Ellen Lederer-DeFrancesco, previously qualified to be on the ballot for the two open seats on the Sudbury School Committee.
There are 11 open positions on this year’s Annual Town Election ballot. See a specimen ballot here.
While the Town Clerk encourages write-in candidates to let her office know of their intentions, there is no requirement to do so. Anyone can run as a write-in candidate at any time.
To appear on this year’s ballot, prospective candidates had to file an intention to run, gather the signatures of at least 50 registered Sudbury voters on a set of nomination papers, return those signatures by the Feb. 9 deadline, and have the Town Clerk’s office certify those signatures.
The election is Monday, March 30. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and all Sudbury precincts vote at the Fairbank Community Center gym, 40 Fairbank Rd.
Mail ballots must be received in the clerk’s office by 8 p.m. March 30. Mail ballots can be returned to the ballot dropbox behind Town Hall; they cannot be returned to the polling place on Election Day.
