I have a son at Haynes and will have a daughter there in the fall, I’ll be voting no on Article 4 on May 20. This school committee held class sizes through $1.6 million in budget cuts, got the roof funded, and built real infrastructure around special education families. SPS was one of only 63 districts in the state recognized by DESE for meeting or exceeding pre-pandemic MCAS scores. The petition against them cites no actual violations – no OML findings, no ethics rulings, nothing. It’s a political move dressed up as accountability, filed within a week of an election they didn’t like. Please vote no.
