What began as a single adaptive cycling event has grown into a welcoming community of riders, families, friends, neighbors, and volunteers. Since the program launched last fall, more than 100 riders have participated in Sudbury’s adaptive cycling events.

The Sudbury Commission on Disability, in partnership with the Rail Trails Advisory Committee and All Out Adventures, invites the community to join the final two Rail Trail Rides of the season on Saturday, August 22 and Saturday, September 19.
The free program welcomes riders of all ages and abilities and offers recumbent trikes, handcycles, tandem bikes, and other adaptive cycles. Children have ridden with parents, grandparents have joined us on the trail, families and friends have ridden together, and participants are also welcome to come on their own and ride alongside other community members.
No cycling experience is necessary. All Out Adventures staff work with participants to find a cycle that works for them and provide support to get them riding.
“I’ve had so much fun riding, but I’ve also really loved meeting the other cyclists and families along the way,” said a participant recently. “Seeing people come back for another ride, recognizing familiar faces on the trail, and welcoming new riders each time has made it feel like a real community.”
Upcoming Rides
Both events will be held at Broadacres Farm Parking Lot, 62 Morse Road, Sudbury, MA, and are free. Participants choose a one-hour ride time between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Helmets are also provided, if you don’t have your own.
