Longfellow’s Wayside Inn
72 Wayside Inn Rd Sudbury, MA 01776
September 26, 2026 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Our 250th Independence Day has come and gone, but the party continues.
Come celebrate New England’s revolutionary heritage as historic Longfellow’s Wayside Inn hosts a Colonial Faire and Muster of Fyfes & Drums.
Step back in time and experience living historians demonstrating life in Massachusetts circa 1775. Enjoy contradancing, cooking, weaving, blacksmithing, as well as engage in children’s activities such as 18th century games, military training and an opportunity to fire a cannon.
At 12:00 following a reading of the Declaration of Independence, the tolling of church bells, along with a musket and cannon salute will herald the start of the Grand Parade. The air will be filled with the music that helped inspire the cause of liberty, as 25 fyfe & drum corps from all over the Northeast process their way to the muster field where they will give individual performances throughout the afternoon.
You may find the music captivating, but don’t forget to stroll the craft booths along Merchant’s Row and grab a bite to eat at the food court before enjoying your favorite beverage at the Wayside 1716 Beer Garden overlooking the Faire grounds,
