The Sudbury School Committee is looking for community members to serve on a screening committee that will help choose the district’s next permanent superintendent. Interest forms are due Monday, Oct. 19, at 5 p.m.
The new superintendent would start in the 2027-28 school year. The School Committee is working with the Collins Center on what it calls a “thoughtful and transparent” search.
The Superintendent Screening Committee will review applications, interview candidates and recommend finalists to the School Committee, which will make the final selection and appointment.
The screening committee will have about 13 to 17 members representing a range of school and community stakeholders. Most of its work is expected to take place in November and December, mainly on weeknights and possibly some Saturdays. In-person attendance is preferred for most meetings and required for some, including candidate interviews.
Residents interested in serving can fill out the Superintendent Screening Committee Interest Form. Because the committee’s size is limited, submitting a form does not guarantee a seat. The School Committee said there will be other opportunities for community input during the search.
The search follows the departure of former Superintendent Brad Crozier, who led Sudbury Public Schools from 2018 until the end of the 2025-26 school year. Annette Doyle, previously the district’s assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, is serving as interim superintendent for the 2026-27 school year.
Questions about the screening committee can be sent to the School Committee at school-committee@sudbury.k12.ma.us. More information is available on the School Committee’s website.
