This Tuesday, Nov. 3, is Election Day, with in-person voting available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. All six Sudbury precincts vote at the Fairbank Community Center, 40 Fairbank Rd.
Voters will be electing a U.S. Senator, Representative in Congress, Governor, other statewide officers, state legislators and county officials. There are also nine statewide ballot questions, plus a tenth question on the Sudbury ballot.
To accommodate the ballot questions, the ballot is two cards with questions on the front and back of the first card and only on the front of the second card. Voters are asked to return both cards as they leave the polling area. A specimen ballot for the election is posted on the Town Clerk’s website.
The early in-person voting period ended Friday, Oct. 30, at noon.
The Town Clerk’s office has sent mail ballots to voters who have requested them. Voters can track the status of their mail ballot at www.VoteInMA.com to insure it was received and accepted.
Mail ballots cannot be returned to the polling place. Mail ballots can be returned to the dropbox behind Town Hall, 322 Concord Rd. available 24/7, or to the clerk’s office in Town Hall during business hours. The deadline to use the dropbox or deliver in person is 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Election officials warn that using the U.S. mail to return a mail ballot less than a week before Election Day means the ballot may not be received in time. Ballots mailed in the U.S. must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by Nov. 6. Ballots mailed from outside the U.S. must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by Nov. 13.
The red Information for Voters booklet on the ballot questions is available in several accessible formats including an online version formatted for screen readers and other assistive devices, an audio version, an ASL version, and versions in English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, and Khmer.
Additional information is available on the Town Clerk’s website.
