The February 18 meeting of Sudbury’s Permanent Building Committee was a routine affair. They had to approve minutes dating back to September of 2025. That was the extent of their agenda.
However, some ad-hoc commentary from the committee indicated that they would like to get after a Town Hall renovation that was tabled years ago. Co-chair Craig Blake joked that the committee had little business to conduct. “Anybody questioning why they’re on the PBC now?”
Member Jim Kelly responded “Waiting for the Town Hall to go. That poor building is getting worse.”
Meanwhile, co-chair Jennifer Pincus added “Just keep on waiting.”
Blake responded “I’ve been told that the PBC is not in control of that schedule and that we are not to attempt to get in control of that schedule.” Longtime member Elaine Jones also raised concerns about the roof on Town Hall.
Pincus kept the committee on task and drove towards adjournment. But the message was clear. The committee believes the Town Hall renovation is a priority.
