Annette Doyle has officially stepped in as Interim Superintendent of Sudbury Public Schools, taking the helm of the district where she has worked for more than two decades.
Doyle was most recently the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning and, before that, principal of Peter Noyes Elementary School. In a July 1 letter to the school community, she emphasized her experience in the district. “It is with great honor that I introduce myself as your new Interim Superintendent of Schools,” she wrote, adding that after 20-plus years in Sudbury she is “fully committed to Sudbury and deeply proud of the work we have accomplished together.”
Doyle used the letter to signal continuity, pledging to keep the district’s mission at the center of her tenure. “Sudbury Public Schools has long been a place where we strive to welcome, inspire, and nurture every child,” she wrote, “and my commitment is to ensure that this mission remains at the heart of every decision we make.”
She also emphasized a collaborative approach, saying she is committed to “maintaining open lines of communication, listening to your feedback, and working collaboratively” in the year ahead.
Joining her on the leadership team is Dr. Carol Cavanaugh, the new Interim Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. Cavanaugh previously served as Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in Hopkinton before retiring in 2025.
