In Monday’s Annual Town Election, Lisa Kouchakdjian and Radha Gargeya were elected to the Select Board in a contested race for the two seats.
Elizabeth Sues was elected to the two-year seat on the preK-8 Sudbury School Committee (SPS), filling a vacancy created by a resignation.
Charles Morton and John Ryan won the two seats on the Lincoln-Sudbury (L-S) Regional District School Committee.
According to the Town Clerk’s website, there were 2,398 votes cast, 17% of the town’s 14,214 registered voters. That’s down from last year’s town election, when there were 3,375 votes cast, 25% of the town’s 13,420 active registered voters.
In unofficial results posted by the Town Clerk Monday night, Gargeya, a former member of the Lincoln-Sudbury school committee, received 1,671 votes to lead the Select Board race. Select Board incumbent Kouchakdjian received 1,598 votes in her bid for re-election. Kevin Matthews, currently a member of the Lincoln-Sudbury school committee, received 902 votes.
In the Sudbury School Committee race, Sues received 1,255 votes. Allison Vanderels received 848 votes. Both were first-time candidates.
Both Sudbury and Lincoln held elections Monday for the two Lincoln-Sudbury school committee seats. John Ryan, a former member of the L-S school committee, topped the vote count with 2,097 votes—1,528 from Sudbury and 569 from Lincoln. Charles Morton, a first-time candidate, received 1,949 votes—1,436 from Sudbury and 513 from Lincoln. Eric Poch, currently a member of the Sudbury finance committee, received 936 votes—836 from Sudbury and 100 from Lincoln.
