On May 19, the Sudbury Select Board took a position on Article 2 at Sudbury’s Special Town Meeting. It was the last of four articles the board considered. The Select Board took positions on the other three articles earlier this month.
Article 2 is a non-binding resolution that “urges the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate to comply with the State Auditor’s request to conduct the audit authorized by the electorate.” The Select Board voted unanimously in favor of the article.
The ballot question was overwhelmingly supported by Sudbury voters in the 2024 presidential election.
With that vote of the Select Board, the final positions heading into Special Town Meeting include:
Article 1 — Citizen’s Petition: Vote to Support House Bill 3464
This article is supported by the Select Board.
Article 2 — Citizen’s Petition: Resolution Regarding the Audit of the Massachusetts Legislature
This article is supported by the Select Board
Article 3 — Citizen’s Petition: An Act Providing for Recall Elections in the Town of Sudbury
This article is opposed by the Select Board.
Article 4 — Citizen’s Petition: Vote of No Confidence
This article is opposed by the Select Board
