On Tuesday, May 20, Sudbury Italian restaurant, Sul Tavolo, announced that it was permanently closed on its Facebook page.
The announcement came suddenly, but was not entirely surprising to some followers who took to the comment section to lament the frequent turnover of restaurants in the location at 29 Hudson Road in Sudbury.
While Sul Tavolo was a new concept, it was operated by the ownership group that operated Sobre Mesa at the same location previously.
The restaurant did not share if it had been sold, or what the future might hold for the space.
Patrons that were fond of the food at Sobre Mesa or Sul Tavolo may find some solace in Nan’s Kitchen, where Sul Tavolo chef Jordan Mackey’s food is featured at three locations across the state. A fourth location is expected to open soon in Andover. Nan’s Kitchen is a juggernaut in the Massachusetts food scene, garnering a loyal following and notoriety as it has expanded aggressively in recent years.
