Local cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts eager to celebrate the newest section of the Massachusetts Central Rail Trail will have to wait just a little bit longer.
The highly anticipated ribbon cutting and the “SudHud” Celebratory Ride, originally scheduled for tomorrow, June 23, has been officially postponed due to forecasted inclement weather. Organizers announced the delay via the Massachusetts Central Rail Trail Facebook page, ensuring rider safety and a better experience for the grand opening ride.
The celebratory group ride has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 16.
Participants for the new July 16 date are asked to gather at the Parkinson’s Field Parking Lot, located at 40–46 Hudson Road in Sudbury. “Kickstands go up” promptly at 12:45 p.m. For those who prefer a slightly later start or a different meeting point, riders can also hop onto the trail with the group at the Sudbury Diamond at 1:00 p.m.
Organizers have provided specific parking instructions for the event. Those planning to join at the Sudbury Diamond should note that parking in that area is strictly limited. Additional, more spacious parking is available behind Sudbury Town Hall.
Anyone wishing to participate in the rescheduled ride must pre-register online. The registration form can be found here.
