The latest budget discussion of the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School School committee outlined a Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) budget shortfall of $298,655. That’s nearly double the estimated shortfall presented earlier in December, but district leadership informed the board at that time that they expected that number to change in the coming weeks.

Key drivers of the change included growing out-of-district expenses, which have presented challenges for the Sudbury Public Schools budget this cycle, as well. The LSRHS forecast is still preliminary and may change further, though the shortfall is considerably more manageable than the surprise $1.6M shortfall reported by Sudbury Public Schools in their first budget building discussion of the season.
Conversations about the budget will continue in the coming weeks as the district administration works through solutions to balance the budget. Jump to 47:00 in the video below to watch the discussion.
