Duran has served as Sudbury’s Combined Facilities Director since 2022, overseeing the town’s facility planning, renovation, construction, energy conservation, and maintenance operations for Town and Sudbury Public Schools (SPS) buildings alike. She brings more than three decades of facilities management experience to the role, with prior leadership positions at St. Mark’s School and the Perkins School for the Blind, as well as extensive work with the City of Boston.
In her role in Sudbury, Duran has managed a wide range of capital projects across the Town’s public buildings and SPS. This year she’s overseeing several prominent projects including two school roof replacements and the planned restoration work at the historic Hosmer House. That’s in addition to many other projects across the Town and SPS.
Construction of the Fairbank Community Center began shortly after Duran joined the Town of Sudbury, and she saw that project to completion. She also played a central role in the recent Atkinson Pool renovation, the DPW building renovation, expansion of the fire station on Route 20, and more.
Beyond construction and restoration, Duran has secured substantial grant funding for accessibility projects in Sudbury Public Schools and Town facilities, and she has been a key contributor to planning activities including the Town-Wide Facility Condition Assessment and Space Use Analysis, the 15-Year capital Plan, and the ongoing Landscape Master Plan for Haskell Field and the Fairbank Community Center.
Today’s event highlighted the collective impact of the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing leaders whose contributions span an enormous breadth of achievement in communities across Massachusetts.
