Sudbury Parks, Recreation & Aquatics has officially released its Fall 2026 brochure, featuring an expansive lineup of athletic clinics, creative enrichment courses, fitness classes, and community events for residents of all ages. Operating out of the Fairbank Community Center, the department is encouraging local families to review the schedule and sign up early before popular sessions reach capacity.
Registration for all programs is available online through the town’s MyRec portal at www.sudburyrec.com.
Community Events & Adult Fitness Options
Among the highlights in this season’s schedule is the return of Puzzle Palooza!, a monthly puzzle competition held at the Fairbank Community Center. Set for September 18, October 9, November 6, and December 11 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, the event invites teams of up to four people (ages 16+) to race against the clock to complete a 500-piece puzzle. Entry is $35 per team, with prizes awarded to top finishers and participants permitted to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
For adults looking to stay active this autumn, the department is offering several recreation and fitness programs:
- Pick-Up Sports: Six-week sessions are open for Women’s Pick-Up Basketball (Tuesdays), Men’s Pick-Up Basketball (Thursdays), and Coed Pick-Up Volleyball (Mondays).
- Fitness & Conditioning: Classes include “Recess Revival” by Obstacle Fitness on Thursday mornings and “Bodyweight and Bands” with Carroll Fitness on Tuesday mornings.
- Pickleball & Archery: Marcus Lewis Racquet Club will host multi-week pickleball clinics ranging from advanced-beginner to intermediate levels, while On the Mark Archery returns with adult archery classes.
Youth & Pre-K Programs
The fall catalog features a balance of sports clinics, outdoor adventures, and hands-on academic enrichment for kids.
- Pre-K & Toddlers: F.A.S.T. Athletics is leading Saturday morning clinics in multi-sport games, basketball, and soccer starting September 26. Pre-K science activities include Snapology’s “Animal Explorers” and “Discovering Dinosaurs”.
- STEM & Technology Enrichment: Offerings feature Play-Well TEKnologies LEGO STEM courses, an Early Release LEGO Club, Snapology’s Animation Studios, and an 8-week “Creating Worlds with AI” course by Overture Games.
- Culinary & Arts: Young chefs can practice culinary skills in “Kids’ Test Kitchen,” while after-school options include “Creative Kids: Arts & Crafts” and a Pokémon Strategy Academy.
- Youth Sports & Outdoors: High Point Athletics will host youth basketball clinics, while Obstacle Fitness leads “Rockstar Runners” and “Beast Mode Runners”. Off-site programs at 1 Liberty Ledge include PUDDLESTOMPERS, Nature Explorers, and Intro to Fishing.
Atkinson Pool Updates
Atkinson Pool, located on the first floor of the Fairbank Community Center, announced updated rates effective September 1. Monthly memberships are set at $80 for adult residents ($85 for non-residents) and $65 for youth ages 14–17 and seniors aged 60 and older ($70 for non-residents).
Daily drop-in passes, weekend reservations, and family swim lane rentals ($22/hour for residents) remain available throughout the fall. Aquatics supervisors remind residents that pool availability after 4:00 PM will be limited from November through March due to the high school swim team season. The aquatics department is also currently hiring certified lifeguards.
