Election officials urge voters to consider voting early in person or by mail to avoid possible delays on Election Day as voters read through the lengthy ballot.
To accommodate the nine statewide ballot questions, plus a tenth question on the Sudbury ballot, the ballot is two cards with questions on the front and back of the first card and only on the front of the second card. Voters are asked to return both cards.
A specimen ballot for the election is posted on the clerk’s website.
The Town Clerk’s office has sent mail ballots to voters who have requested them. Voters can track the status of their mail ballot at www.VoteInMA.com.
Mail ballots cannot be returned to polling places. Mail ballots can be returned to the dropbox behind Town Hall, available 24/7, or to the clerk’s office; the deadline to use the dropbox or deliver in person is 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Ballots can also be returned by U.S. mail. Election officials recommend mailing ballots at least a week before Election Day to be sure they will be received in time. Ballots mailed in the U.S. must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by Nov. 6. Ballots mailed from outside the U.S. must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by Nov. 13.
The red Information for Voters booklet on the ballot questions is available in several accessible formats including an online version formatted for screen readers and other assistive devices, an audio version, an ASL version, and versions in English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, and Khmer.
Additional information is available on the Town Clerk’s website.
